Advocacy Shines at Social Media Week Chicago #SMWChicago

Social Media Week Chicago wrapped up last week and it proved, yet again, to be a phenomenal event.  This year’s theme – The Future of Now: Making Sense of Our Always On, Always Connected World – brought together the best and brightest minds to speak on all things social, including our very own Jim Larrison, SVP of Sales & Marketing.

Jim’s session, The Future of Marketing: Advocacy, included an overview of how dynamic the marketing space has become and why Advocacy is so important across social media. He cited that 76% of consumers don’t believe that companies tell the truth in advertisements and that less than 1% of Facebook Fans actually engage with brands. This led to a discussion on the value of brand advocates and how trust plays an even bigger role in marketing than ever before.
