Social media has enriched the lives of the global population with well over 1 billion active users across many social channels. With such a large online population comes the ability to capture marketing and sales ROI through social selling, especially when it comes to employee advocacy. As companies scale their employee advocacy programs to include their global teams, Dynamic Signal will ensure that their content is available in the social channels that are significant in other parts of the world.
In the United States, the potential for social selling is significant with a social media penetration at 75% of the total U.S. population, totaling nearly a quarter billion social media users. By comparison, China has a social media penetration of 42%, but with its larger population, results in a social media reach more than double that of the U.S., at well over half a billion users.
Mark Zuckerberg gets it. His (nearly) fluent Mandarin during a Q&A at Tsinghua University caught a lot of people by surprise, but it shouldn’t have. The fact of the matter is that any global business cannot afford to ignore China and its potential when it comes to social selling. This is why we are thrilled to announce our entrance into the Chinese market through our integration with Sina Weibo. Sina Weibo is the most popular social network in China, with around 280 million active users and 500 million registered users. Often called “China’s Twitter,” Sina Weibo users are more active in online posting than the region’s overall social media users. As was seen in the U.S., the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge also went viral on Sina Weibo with more than 2 million posts published.
Dynamic Signal is the first employee advocacy platform to reach the Sina Weibo subscriber base opening up a significant opportunity for our clients. For global organizations, the ability to scale on the VoiceStorm platform is amplified tremendously with this expansion. As part of this launch, our clients will now be able to connect the Sina Weibo channel within the VoiceStorm platform and begin adding their global teams to their employee advocacy strategy. We look forward to watching the impact this will have on employee advocacy and the increase of social reach for brands across the globe.
