It’s now been 6 years since Jim, Steve, and I founded Dynamic Signal- and we’ve had quite the adventure!
Our once tiny team has grown to 150 people across the US and UK that I feel lucky to work with every day. We invented a category and built the most trusted communications technology platform, serving hundreds of the best enterprise customers across the globe. We’ve established strong partnerships with industry leaders, assembled an amazing board, hired the best talent, and today, I’m excited to announce that we’ve secured a new round of financing from an incredible roster of investors.
This $25 million round of funding caps off our fantastic year of rapid growth, and includes new investors Microsoft Ventures, Akkadian Ventures, and Focus Ventures; in addition to participation by existing investors, Trinity, Venrock, Rembrandt, and Time Warner.
I have mentioned in our last few company all-hands that we were incredibly thankful to have had several fantastic options for this round of financing- even in what has been a challenging market for many others. This funding is a testament to the amazing work of our talented employees who have built a world-class platform that provides 20 percent of the Fortune 500, and numerous other leaders in every vertical, with a company communications solution that connects thousands of employees around the world.
As I’ve said before, companies have plenty of difficult seasons, so it’s important to recognize the exciting accomplishments. That is why I’m really happy to share our great news and celebrate the amazing year we’ve had at Dynamic Signal.
We had the best week ever. We kicked off the 2016 by adding customers like Humana, Lenovo, and Getty Images to the Dynamic Signal family. We created fantastic content with outstanding customers Autodesk and SAP, and hosted webinars with global leaders like FedEx and Salesforce. We made the rounds at CES and SXSW, we announced a strategic partnership with global marketing communications firm Edelman, launched a ton of new features including instant messaging, localization, and a whole suite of tools for Company Communications.
The second quarter of 2016 brought us a new marketing leader, and the availability of our application on the Oracle Marketing AppCloud to help marketers increase awareness, measure impact, and track new sales leads. But perhaps the most notable accomplishment of this quarter- the highly anticipated, frequently demanded, excessively used… animated .gifs!
The team and our customer roster continued to grow and we responded to client demands and announced three new integrations with Facebook Messenger, Slack, and Microsoft Yammer. These integrations furthered our reach into company communications, allowing companies to communicate with employees directly via existing channels.
In addition to adding SMS alerts, SSO automation and an enhanced dashboard, our partner, Lewis PR launched employee activate, a fantastic agency service that extends the benefits of the Dynamic Signal platform.
I’m also proud to share that we’ve enhanced our senior leadership team with the addition of a new role, COO, which will be filled by Dynamic Signal’s An Le, formerly our Vice President and GM of Mid-Market. An’s contributions to Dynamic Signal have been well noted and we’re thrilled for this new chapter of our company evolution with her at the helm of this important business function.
As we continue to focus on our core platform and serve customers like Deloitte, GE, and SAP, I couldn’t be more excited for this new funding to support our incredible growth.

As 2016 comes to a close and I reflect on the last year and all this team has accomplished, I’m incredibly proud. We’re doing something very difficult in defining a category, but this amazing, mission-driven Dynamic Signal team has been up for the challenge. We love working with each other, our partners, and our investors; and most importantly- we come to work excited to build a world-class platform for world-class clients.
The goal is to make each year better than the last. This one will be hard to top – but that’s another challenge we’re excited to take head on!
